Weddings and Banns of Marriage

Whatever the stage of life’s journey, your local churches are here to support you. Both St Peter’s and St Augustine’s are available for weddings and can publish the Banns of Marriage for those who live in either of the parishes and are to be married in another church. .

Before you read any further, it is important to confirm whether you live in St Peter’s parish, St Augustine’s parish, or another parish. You can find out by entering your address at https://www.achurchnearyou.com.

Weddings

Weddings join two people together in marriage, and we will help you prepare for the service and your lives together. To be eligible to marry in one of our churches, you must either live in the parish, attend for six months, or have another ‘qualifying connection’ (see our application form for full details).

Please return this form to office@southcroydonbenefice.org.uk, or post to the Benefice Administrator, c/o St Augustine’s Church, St Augustine’s Avenue, South Croydon, CR2 6BA.

Prayers for same-sex couples: Both St Augustine’s and St Peter’s have voted to offer Prayers of Love and Faith within regular services with immediate effect, and to offer standalone services once we are allowed. If any couples would like to mark their relationship in this way, please get in touch.

Banns of Marriage

If you are marrying in another Church of England parish, but live in St Peter’s parish or St Augustine’s parish, we can call Banns of Marriage for you. Please return this form to office@southcroydonbenefice.org.uk, or post to the Benefice Administrator, c/o St Augustine’s Church, St Augustine’s Avenue, South Croydon, CR2 6BA.
